Widow Farmers Hope Organization (WIFHO) is a local Somali humanitarian non-governmental (NGO), non-profit organization.  It was founded in October 2005 by a Somali widow now living in the United States who has a heart to help her fellow widows in a peaceful manner. 

The objective of WIFHO is to alleviate poverty and illiteracy of the many women who have been widowed as a result of the prolonged civil war in Somalia.

Our purpose is to help displaced or widowed women physically and emotionally, by: 

• Alleviating malnutrition through education and improved food sources
• Teaching these women
• to practice sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture
• to plant trees and to conduct agricultural training to improve the soil
• to bring dairy goats and cows into the villages
• to make beekeeping farms and chicken farms
• Creating small income generating projects
• Introducing cheese and peanut butter making
• Establishing village schools for the children
